Traditional Food in Costa Rica Hola and welcome to the Backpack With Brock Foodbyte Costa Rican edition.
I'm here today trying a Costa Rican specialty called Patacones and that is comprised of fried green plantanes, plantanes are super popular here.
We've got some chicken, we've got some pico de gayo, which is like a salsa.
We've got some cheese on top and refined beens as well so, let's give it a go.
Muy Bien! Now, pretty much anything, if I want to step it up a notch, they what they call salsa, but salsa is the same thing in many places.
This is Lizano sauce.
So, I'm just going to pour a little bit on there.
I could eat this with everything.
So good! When you come to Costa Rica, you got you have to try plantains regardless.
Check out the patacones, the lizano sauce you'll want to buy five bottles and take it home with you and you'll also find lots of rice and beans and whatnot and the food here is actually really, really good.
I was surprised.
Not super spicy but delicious across-the-board so.
