Quick & Easy Traditional Japanese Food : Cutting Vegetables for Vegetable Tempura

We're going to cut this pepper up in I like using like a fairly large piecesof pepper if I'm going to fry them for tempura so I just cut a couple of them.

If you likeI usually do it I take the knife and put it down flat and then just cut this center coreout like this if there's any bitterness in a pepper it's going to be inside of it righthere.

So I remove any little white on the inside and these should be about a good sizefor the vegetable tempura.

With the butter nut squash it's a bit hard to peel you gotto really go at it with a peeler because it's thick skin but and you'll see these greenlines in here underneath the skin you can leave them on if you want I just take themoff it's not going to really matter that much so don't be worry if you have or see theseyou don't have to peel it below that.
