How it’s Made – Traditional Japanese Metalworks – Niigata Vlog

One of the other things I wanted to do was try making art.

Actually, last year in 2016, I had the honor of having some of my art put on display in Manchester Art Gallery.

Furthermore, we practice traditional Tsuiki techniques no longer used by anyone else.

I was taught this technique of shaping everything from the handle to the spout from a single metal plate by my senior, Mr.

Ueno from Tsubame city.

The only people who can do this in Japan are Mr.

Ueno and myself.

So I’d like to one day pass on these techniques to someone.

Whether it’s my child or a apprentice of some kind.
