Chepa Shutki Bhorta | Traditional Bangladeshi food (with English Subtitles) | Salma’s Kitchen

Hello viewers, today I'll cook Chepa Shutki (Mashed Dry Fish).

Firstly we need 2 large dry fish.

1/2 cup of sliced onions, 1/2 cup of garlicslices, 5 green chillies and 1/2 tsp of salt.

I've cleaned the fish.

Then I'll cut the head offbecause it may cause a bitter taste later.

Now, in a pan, I'll pour 1/2 tsp soyabean oil.

When it's properly heated, I'll pour the onion slices in it.

I'll fry the onions for 2 minutes and thenI'll add the green chllies.

After stirring for 30 seconds, I'll add thegarlic slices.

I'll stir it for a while again and pour it allon a plate to put it aside.

Now I'll pour 1/2 tsp soyabean oil ina pan again.

When it's properly heated, I'll put thedry fish in it.

The dry fish should be properly cooked,.

We have to break it in the middle with a spatula.

Now I'll put the cooked onion, garlicand chillies with the fish and fry it for a while.

Now I'll put 1/2 tsp salt and stir ita little more.

Now I'll pour the cooked meal into amortar and mash it for a while with a pestle.

Since people who live abroad don't have a 'sheel-pata set',a mortar and pestle set works just fine for the mashing.

When the whole thing is mashed properly,I'll pour it in a small bowl.

And that's how my Chepa Shutki(mashed dry fish) is prepared.
